Title I

Woodland Park Elementary is a school that receives Title I funds.  These funds are provided by the federal government.  The purpose of this program is to ensure that all children have the opportunity to obtain a quality education and reach proficiency on state academic standards and assessments.  Title I funds are used to provide staff, classroom materials, and technology to our students.  Our Title I program involves our administration, teachers, parents, and students working together as a team to ensure success for every student at Woodland Park.  Through our mission, vision, and beliefs we strive for success with each student at Woodland Park.

OUR MISSION:

The mission of Woodland Park is to provide each student with the academic skills set forth by the Tennessee Department of Education that will motivate each student to reach their greatest potential educationally and socially.  This will be achieved by:

   * Promoting a high performing learning culture which includes all
      stakeholders and students
   * Promoting the use of data driven decision-making process
   * Promoting the use of shared decision-making process

OUR SHARED VISION:

The faculty, staff and stakeholders of Woodland Park shall provide a safe stimulating environment that will encourage students to become lifelong learners who are technologically adept and are able to think critically.  In so doing we will create a curriculum based upon developmentally appropriate instructional techniques and resources that are researched based and data driven.
Individual difference in students shall not only be accepted but valued.  All students shall learn and achieve proficiency or beyond.  Parents and students shall work as partners in the education of our children.  We will value parental input and encourage all parents to share in their child's endeavors, goals, and success.
Woodland Park establishes a link between beliefs, mission, and shared vision through cooperation between teachers, parents, students, and community stakeholders.

OUR BELIEFS:

We believe:
*  In meeting the individual needs of students by striving for
   quality education for all students
*  In fostering collaboration among staff and stakeholders, the
process of decision making should be conducted in a collaborative
manner at the school level by all stakeholders, when appropriate
including students and guided by the White County Board Policy.
*  In engaging in adequate and appropriate internal and external
open communication among administrators, faculty, staff, parents,
students, and community will lead to a successful learning
   environment.
*  In aligning policies and procedures to maintain a focus on
achieving the school's goals for student learning by using various
and creative instructional methods to motivate students and meet
   individual learning styles.
*  Interpersonal relations between and among students should
promote tolerance of differences as well as cooperation.
*  That positive attitudes encourage students to accept
self-responsibility and in turn will enable students to develop into
   responsible adults
*  In utilizing research-based information and data to drive decisions
*  In holding high expectations for all students

*  In providing a clear purpose and direction for our beliefs, mission,

   vision
